Thanks for all your help and advice. Love all the pics especially the KF Line Neptune. Great stuff!!!
Can anypone recommend which paints to use? Im assuming because of the size i will need quite a bit? :)
Humbrol tins with thinners for hull and deck, brush painting will need about 4 each colour for hull, 1-2 for deck, two for main colour of super structure, and one of each colour you choose for picking out fittings.
Another way is one of each colour for hull of Halfords car paint (one red,one blue or any colour you choose for upper hull) one tin of humbrol for black water line again using thinners. The same as above for super structure and fittings. Always wet and dry then prime before painting. I use Halfords white and grey primmer before painting (grey for warships, white for just about any other subject). A lot of people seal the whole thing with a spray satin or matt varnish. I personaly have never done this in the past as long as you do thin coats and give plent of time to dry between them (4-5 days) then rub back the paint will be rock solid. But on my newer builds I'm going to use varnish, just as an experiment to see if it is worth the effort.
