Here are some links to video clips of the JJC Old Smokey converted to work with transom exhausts on a model of a Severn Class lifeboat.

Looks very realistic indeed.  The sound is good too: also JJC?  Adding sound to a model really does make a big difference to the realism, I think and at long last, thanks to JJC, there are off the shelf sound units which actually sound like the real thing!  The exhaust smoke is excellent:  I'm tempted by a Severn already and this is making it worse!!!

It certainly looks and sounds great,
I wonder how long it will be with the way electronics are going before you program what you want you boat
to do on shore, put it in the water press start and it takes it self out does what it is supposed to do and returns to where it left....

Hi Andy

all the pipe work is overflow pipe the only modified bit is that 2 135 bends where modified and stuck together to make a y connector and there is a small bit of flexable rubber to enable the smoke unit to be easily removed. the exhaust flaps are counter balanced to make them open more easily and the cooling water is by a small pipe glued into the overflow pipe.

Thanks John,
I've ordered the unit just waiting for it to come, its going to be fitted to a tug with twin funnels, but when my next tug project is completed it will be twin transom exhaust.
