I was at my local lake this Sunday when a woman came along and pored out the contents of a plastic bag onto the floor!
It was sweetcorn, oats, bread crumbs, and some seeds. the club chairman asked her what she was doing and a sort of row ensued. "I am feeding the ducks! they need it because there is no food for them this time of year" it was pointed out that she was NOT supposed to do that because of the RAT and RODENT problem and the contamination of the lake water.
SHE called the police and the police came to speak to the chairman, where he was told that although it was not supposed to happen there was very little the police could do.
We have squirrels ducks the odd swan come to our lake Oh and the rats, mice, foxes and the normal scavengers *sea gulls, pigeons etc* without mentioning the stray dogs and thugs.
No fish live in the Garden waters? any more, just mush and slime.
