what power to use
« on: April 05, 2009, 04:16:12 pm »

i've almost finished my 1/24 scale a.s.r.l. and not sureof the best set up to power it and what type of speed control to use .The model is wood built 33 &1/2 inches long,has two 30mm scale 3 blade props,the motors that are fitted at the moment are two 380's,i'm afraid electrics leave me cold.what i'm looking for is a reasonable running time and to be able to get up on the plane at full power.what was tried in the hull to test it out as recomended was a 6 volt 4amp gell cell controlled with an 8 amp Bobs Board speed control ,worked fine untill the board melted.Hope some of you experts out there can give me some ideas.  {:-{

Same here, but they're cheap and easy to do.

Try an MTroniks 15amp esc, or even better get on to FLJ (ACTion Electronics), and get one of his esc's
