HSL mouldings. do a great variety...a little cheaper than precision controls, I think. Just Google, you can't miss them. :-))

Deans Marine do very good machine guns for ASR launches too, and they are the lowest price I think.

Chris
I have just returned to modelling and am building a 1/24 Perkasa, like you I am finding weapons at that scale difficult to source.
I have a 40mm Bofors from Deans and at best it is a starting point but don't expect it to be the complete thing.
I won't amplify here but I was very disappointed with this item.
I have a Precision Controls Oerlikon but again it needs a lot of work to make it look like the real thing.
Perhaps a bit OTT but at this scale small details make a difference.
Whenever this subject comes up our Mayhem friends publish links but how many have built the stuff they link to,
'cause when I follow the links I get the same stuff that I have researched myself and a lot of it is not 1/24 and some is not that good for quality.
At present I am building torpedoes and side launchers from research material because none are commercially available at the correct scale.
You will be surprised at how many different sizes there are for 21 inch torpedoes.
With the number of 24 scale launches out there I am surprised there are not more sources for weapons.
So it is back to my roots of more years than I care to publish and make stuff from scratch.
Happy building

If you want a 1/24 scale single bofor then check out www.johnrhaynes.com shop. Other 1/24 weapons available but mostly for USN , oerlikons, 37mm cannon

I have just checked my shop and it is certainly open. My IT woman is in the process of up-dating photos etc but this should not affect the shop . Like the "Windmill " we are always open [ for those old enough to  get my Wartime  reference ! ]
Anyone having problems I would appreciate an e-mail . I check the shop many times during the day whilst building a 1/192 pre-war HMS AJAX  to  see to any orders/questions/help etc anybody sends.

Hi John
Looked at your shop, some nice stuff there.
As I said I am building a Perkasa that has its own mark of guns, later that WW2 guns.
With your Bofors and single Oerlikon as a basis perhaps you could be persuaded to make a gun set for 1/24 Perkasa builders.
Regards

afraid not . But what I can do is supply you with a 1/24 oerlikon barrel in white-metal or resin that you could alter to suit. This is a detailed barrel from my USN PT kit. Just give me your address. This cannot be for a Perkasa is it ? not sure they carried this mount, seems to be a bofor and twin M/G

Many years ago I developed a 1/24 kit for" Battlefleet ", a name thought up by my wife ,which was to be developed by Jotika. This arrangement did not work out and since then the kit masters have been in my storage. This was to be MTB 34 . Some modellers may remember them. This featured the detailed twin  M/G tub and two Torp. tubes.
I am busy with my modelling and running my shop and cannot get involved in getting MTB's armament/fittings etc  onto the market along with the PT's I do.
If anyone out there is interested in developing/casting these detailed fittings/weapons that apparently may be  needed, it seems a shame that they are not on the market.
Anyone interested can talk to me if they could bring them into use although it may only be suitable to an existing  commercial operation.------------------------------------------------------------------ [email protected]

Chaps
Received a Bofors and Oerlikon from John Haynes and the quality is excellent.
Mouldings are crisp and accurate, not like some others I have received recently.
I would have no hesiation in recommending John to anybody, check out his shop.
Cheers
Mark
P.S. I have no connection other than a satisfied customer.
