Probably the better way to get off the beach, with the stern and power pulling
ahead, and the bow acting like a "weather vane" in the surf to keep the boat straight.

They might be called "Volunteer" crew men ,but it just shows what magnificent sea men these guys are.

Got the weight of the crew to the bow, to lift the stern and the propellors out of the shingle, and away she went stern first without much drama at all.

Pure professionalism. :-)) :-))

My views towards the RNLI are totally biased though> O0 O0 O0 O0

WOW!!  :o

I thought they were in big trouble when she swung to the side with those waves breaking over her!! But they just kept their heads, seemed to know exactly what to do and made it seem so simple to get out of that scary situation!!!

RESPECT!!

Tough boats them Mersey's.  You should see what they do when they come back in. Strait up the beach and then dragged out the water by the tractor before being loaded back on its carriage.

That's why the RNLB's are some of the best in the world.

Hello

And then what is the way to put the boat on the carriage for the next launch : a crane ?

I'm not familiar with beach operation and I was thinking the recovery is with the carriage ...

Xtian,

The bed of the trailer tilts, and then they drag the boat onto it with the tractor.

Hello

Thank you Mike for those links, I've also seen your other clips and the ones with your Tyne, very nice job.

A question : the boat is released from the top of the slipway ? I mean : when I was young it was a launched lifeboat at the île de Sein (now replaced with a stay afloat one) and at that time the boat came down at first then released not far from sea to avoid too much speed on the slope.

Released from top of the slope is impressive !

Have actually met the guy who was at that time coxwain. He was a guest speaker on the Black Watch(Fred Olsen ship)
Gave some very interesing talks about the RNLI history and experiences.
Some person on board orr ship must have whistled, which is not allowed on boards lifeboats as we experienced rough weather that had not been predicted.
Hope we meet again sometime
