:D WHAT - sacraildge (spelt somthing like that) have you not seen the light and viewed the springers, they,  that push pull shove kick the h**l out of everything else on the water - where have you been  {-)

I always thought that these boats were the basis for the springers

The hull design were for small truckable push boats used to move barges in a work area. Here's a photo of one.

Q Whats the difference between a pusher tug and a springer ?
A a pusher tug is a mansion ,where as a springer is a bed-sit  {-).

They are some nice boats. I've got one that I detailed and named after the owner Phil Pace. I'm also working on a twin screw version.

Wow, could this be jenno's American Beauty passing the Tennessee River just above Paducah, Kentucky?
Jenno if you want to try your luck at fiberglass lids for the barges, I have some drawings and photos you can work with.

Hi Portside II,
The hull sides & frames are 4mm ply and the covering is 2mm ply all glued with alphatic glue then covered in fibreglass. the deck is 4mm again covered in glass fibre. The superstructure is a mix of 3mm, 2mm & 1mm plasticard.

portside II,
Forgot to mention the size of the towboat is 40inches X 14inches 1/32 scale. the weight without batteries is 33lbs, With batteries 2 12v 12amp hrs she weight about 48lbs.
However she is not a problem to launch single handed. Hull in the water first then batteries then superstructure. She has working radar, lights & winches all controlled from F14 navy with Action P94 twin ESC, Action distribution board, action switcher & Action slow speed for the 2 geared motors for the winches. Main motors are MMB 900 driving 2 106mm 5 bladed props  in 110 mm Kort nozzles. She has 2 main rudders and 4 backing rudders 6 in all. These perform just like the real thing.
