Hi all

I've been following (admiring!) some of the builds on here, and one thing I'm struggling with is how to get a good finish on an internal cut out. for example:



Do you use a file or sandpaper on a block to neaten things up? - any tips or ideas gratefully received.

Several of the methods you suggest can be very effective.

However, I have a small vibrating sander with different size, shape and angled heads which is made by Proxxon. it is no bigger than a small electric toothbrush and excellent for such jobs. It is 12v.

That's what I'd reccomend, a small one in a Dremel.

Go easy if using a Dremel or other circular sander. Very easy to end up with concave indentations.

A minture flapwheel sounds like its worth a try..

I have the proxxon mini sander and also the proxxon orbital - I use the orbital loads as its such a convenient size, but have found the mini sander frustrating to use.

I've got some of the dremel sanding drums, but as you say if you are not careful you end up with a wavy line.
