Model identification
« on: April 18, 2006, 12:55:05 pm »

I bought these two models from the Shipfinder General at the Northwich show. The hulls are carved from solid wood. Does anyone recognise these as commercial items, or perhaps produced from a plan?

I'd like to restore them to working order, but really need more info before launching into making funnels, guns, torpedo tubes and so on. Failing definite identification, are there pictures of similar models of the same era (20s/30s?) on the web anywhere?

Thanks in anticipation

Hello Ron,

Yes. Must be daft. I went down to the show to buy the materials and hardware for an LCT and a Fairey Swordsman 42, and ended with those instead!

Still no ideas, anyone?

And Oi! Martin, what's all this about being an AB? I'll have you know that I'm out of the top drawer, matey, not the lower deck. Snottie, at least. I reckon.
