Wireless & SD video Camera Microphone ??
« on: June 10, 2009, 09:09:38 am »

Is there a modification which will by-pass the built in micorphone, as motor / gearbox noise appears to be amplified.

Does the camera have a socket for an external mic.? If so inserting a suitable plug, without any connections, will almost certainly switch off the built-in mic.

Some thoughts is all.

If you have the camera attached to the model directly:
The noise problem is probably due to vibration coming through the camera case, cause by direct contact with the vibrating deck.

If all else fails.
Layer of soft cloth, layer of thin polystrene tile, cloth, styrene, cloth. (cloth will stop any squeeking)
Or cloth, Bubble wrap, cloth bubble wrap, styrene.
Or any combination of the above.
Then fix the camera down to the boat, on top of your polly sandwich, with rubber bands (absorb vibration).

Hopefully this will isolate the camera from vibrations.
