1/32 Scale Fittings
« on: June 13, 2009, 09:35:21 pm »

This may be a case of "How long is a piece of string" !!!.
I have just purchased some 1/32 scale white metal fittings for a new gun boat build and included in the order was a number of anvil cleats.
The actual length of each cleat supplied is 10mm, which to my understanding , makes the full sized 1:1 only around a foot long ???. Is this correct or have I lost the plot somewhere. What does the team think ?.
Regards
Barrie.

Can't answer that for you. But I would like to here where you got the kit from. Do they do fittings only? I'm thinking of building a Dog Boat in this scale, but struggling to find fittings, before I start.

Many thanks,

Hi Mark
This will be another PT/MTB  Boat "scratch" build so a kit is not involved. I use Marine Models for white metal fittings because they are well cast and , as far as I am aware , seem to be accurate scale. My problem with the cleat size is that I've never seen an original and was surprised that they are only 12 " long in reality. I would give Marine Models a go for your project, they would probably be able to help although I think they are away on Holiday just now. Hope this helps. Their web is  www.nauticalmarinemodels.co.uk
