Good old "Happy Hunter"
« on: June 14, 2009, 02:17:21 am »

Hi all,
this week I took my old Happy Hunter, cleaned her up, added a sound module and bought new batteries. Here are some pics of today's run.

Cheers

Looks good Willie. Certainly an eye catching colour. Makes me think I should recommission my Seabex again.

Thanks John, the Seabex is a really great model. Do you have some pictures? Maybe we will see each other in Kitchener?

I put some pics of her on her a while back. Here's the thread: http://www.modelboatmayhem.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=14328.0
Kitchener sounds interesting. I thought about. I don't think I have anything in the way next weekend. Its a possibility

Hi John,
this is a beautiful looking ship and everything looks neat and easily accessible inside.  :-)) Thanks for the link and I will copy the pictures on my laptop. Have a great Sunday and we might see each other in Kitchener.

Hi John (cos918),
I am amazed by the quality of the ABS plastic. I did built her about 20 years ago and the plastic is still in excellent condition. Good luck finishing yours and I hope you post some pictures.

I missed this thread.
The happy Hunter is still my all time favourite tugs of all time. Must get mine refurbished some day.

Great pictures Wilhelm.
 What functions does she have?

Hi Dan,
the arm of the crane is moved up and down via a thin steel cable. It works excellent. I made up a quick drawing for you and a couple of pictures. I hope this is somewhat helpful.

looks good, though a few ounces of lead in the stern won't go amiss, she's sitting down at the bow

Shoe looks OK in photo 1 & 4 Ghost.
It's just that she's doing a scale speed of about 90MPH!  ok2

Hi Martin,
Ghost in the shell was right. I noticed that myself and added about 7 ounces of lead at the stern. Have a look at the picture it should be okay. Thanks for the hint.

Hi Gerry
and thanks for your kind words. I also enjoyed the visit with you guys from the Kawartha Club . Too bad that you and John didn't go to the Kitchener "high Point" but I did have the chance to talk to Dan again.

All the Best
