A Beautiful Model,and expensive
« on: June 25, 2009, 11:19:08 am »

Hi All,whilst browsing on German ebay,i came accross this model,i,ve never seen one of these before,it is a 1/100 scale handbuilt, here is a translation of the description
item number,
170346458786
Wullie

Work time: 3.5 years (approx. 2,000 hours) The ship's model was manufactured after original plans (no kit!). Nearly all parts were manufactured in manual work. Thus the deck with individual genuine timber floor boards was e.g. laid out; Nose and Heckzier were made; each ship's boat was poured, painted out of a before manufactured form and equipped according to the original. The entire model captivates by large fate relating to crafts and unusual love for the detail. The ship is equipped RC and can be used thus also as driving model.
buy it now price,
6000 euro,s

That's gorgeous! (link to ebay.de here)

But I'm not sure I'd describe it as "expensive". 2000 hours at 3 euro/hr is massively underselling the talent that's gone into this.

Hi Andy,
when i said expensive,i meant for the everyday ebayer looking for a bargain,we all know that modellers never get paid for the amount of work that goes into their creations,@3 euro,s an hour.it does,nt even cover his costs, let alone materials etc
By the way,i,m not taking on the Yamato build,i,m scared S*******, so i,ve decided to let someone else do it,he lives in Weegie land
