Just read (in the S*n so must be right

John
This is indeed brushless, but not OUR kind of brushless - its a Variable Reluctance (VR) motor and presumably needs its own unique driver.
I don't know what that means - but somebody will

Still far from being the fastest motor in the world, the JetCat P-60, for example, runs up to 165,000rpm...
Nah it won't go in a boat, it's too electric for my liking...

You say that Andy, but I bet you've already had some thoughts on how to use one

Spinning at that speed, I wouldn't want to be close if it decides to break up.

I wonder if it isn't more a case of dressing up existing technology in a bunch of patents for the purpose of marketing?
The claims of superior green-ness seen a bit dubious - carbon brushes usually dont burn away into CO2, they just turn into carbon dust. This guy claims that his motor last twice as long as carbon brushes. So what? How much emission is involved with what is probably going to be a complete replacement? Anybody else remember Sinclair from the '60s? Perhaps the two ought to get together an make a C5GT. They might be the biggest UK car manufacturer after Morgan.
