Lifeboat Walkarounds
« on: July 06, 2009, 10:25:23 pm »

I've decided to create walkarounds of the lifeboats that I've documented at Chatham and elsewhere for your downloading pleasure. These are not pretty pretty shots, but close up details mainly for the lunatic modelling fringe (in which class I include myself!).

The downloadable zips are quite large (up to about 20 Mb) and generally contain between 30 and 130 pictures per boat.

Walkarounds

Currently on there are the McLachlan A504, 35'6" Liverpool twin screw 'Grace Darling' and the 47' Watson 'Frederick Edward Crick'. Expect more as soon as I can overcome inertia to put them there %).

All the pictures are mine, so there's no copyright problems, and you can freely download them - just don't sell them... ;).

Cheers

Lance you are a star!!  This is invaluable for those of the lifeboat lunatic fringe that can't get to Chatham and see the real thing.  :-))

Great work Lance and much appreciated as Gribeauval says for those of us unable to get to see them in Chatham.

See you there! You get a better view of the boats if we're there, 'cos we'll get the ladders out... :-))

The Will And Fanny Kirby - 37' Oakley

I remember looking around this lifeboat as a youngster when my parents used to take me to Flamborough Head and I used to visit the lifeboat houses on the North and South Landings. I also seem to remember another lifeboat stationed there called the Friendy Forester but not sure what class she was.

The photos of the Edward Bridges will also come in handy for my 1/12th Arun Lifeboat.

Great material Lance, thanks once again.

Friendly Forrester is a Liverpool, the same as Grace Darling. She's currently part of a display at the Blackgang Chine park on the Isle of Wight.

Hi Lance,

Any chance you could do the North Foreland and the Mary Gabriel next? ;D
I have them on my list of future build projects!
