Apparently the USS Halyburton is in London for a 3 day visit

The above link is (hopefully) an interesting article about how the crew of the USS Halyburton had to march to the Tower of London and deliver a keg of wine to pay their 'dues' which is kind of cool.

Re USA ships visiting the UK. Do the giant nuclear Aircraft carriers and the associated flotilla ever visit UK waters?

Yes, we have had several anchored at Spithead as they are to big to enter Portsmouth Harbour.
