cello tape removal

hi chaps, i have cello tape glue on the hull of my tinto boat, what is the best thing to removoe it without damaging the hulll?
thanks in advance ..glen
p.s i think its fiberglass/gel

White spirit should be okay,depends on paint though.

White spirit will be ok as craftsod has said depends on the paint, try it where it will not be seen if it all goes wrong

 WD40 or RP7 spray dewatering fluid will remove the tape & residue without damaging any other surfaces......... :-))  {-) Derek

Meths will do the trick removed hundreds of sticky things from typewriters,word processors, computers in my days.

Don't rub too hard.

3M do an Adhesive Remover spray as well. If the tape has been on the hull for a long time, donot be surprised if there is a little difference in the paint under the tape, compared to the paint around it.

if all else fails try liquid lighter fuel, its often used in graphics studios and stuff to clean and remove residues on drawing equipment, drawing boards, rulers and stuff, it evapourates and leaves no oily  mess

Nail Varnish remover works for removing sticky stuff too but check the substrate for suitability!
