A very brief history of the build of the Elliot Bay Steam Launch:

A very simple and enjoyable build.   Video to follow: :-)

A short video, by no means the same quality as yours.

I'll have to borrow your underwater camera technique, if you don't mind.

Now I find the audio has been disabled.  Just how is a 1.15 minute clip of an obscure Jazz song lasting over six minutes, and attached to a steam launch video, a threat to WMG's copyright?

These people are ridiculous. >:-o

Hi, Kusuchi,  now that's a good looking launch!  Information for the Elliot Bay Steam Launch, is hard to cum by, thanks for tacking the time to post the pics and video!
I'm glad I finely got a view of the inside of the Elliot Bay,  I was thinking of using a Hielscher Andreas steam engine to power my next small launch and I think it would fit very well in a Elliot Bay.  great to have some video to!

                     Thanks again!

Hi Marc,

I also have an extensive thread documenting my build of the Elliot Bay.   It's a lot less technical than Bernhard's though.  Rather, it's a more lighthearted, humorous account of the confusing frustrations of ones first build, from the initial shock of the 200 plus construction steps to the final realization that directly aligning the engine with the propeller shaft would greatly increase performance.   Despite what the instructions say the small length of plastic tubing provided with the kit is by no means a substitute for a good universal joint system.

I'll post it if you're interested.

Best,

Richard.

It sounds perfect Richard, seeing that I'm still a beginner, I fined all this information great to fallback on while building.  Spetialy the part about universal joint systems, I was wondering about those.

So if you have the time to post it, that would be great.

Any build thread generates interest and provides useful guidance to beginners and the more experienced alike.  Please post it, I know other members will find it interesting.
