2.4 with EPA for sail boat questions.
« on: August 04, 2009, 12:30:02 pm »

Questions, I am looking at buying a 6 channel 2.4 Ghz set.

It is programable including end point adjustment (EPA).

Q1. Does EPA work ok with multi turn drum winches OK.

Q2. I can choose either a Heli transmitter or an aircraft transmitter.
Is one more suitable than the other for sheetboats?

Looking forward to feedback.

if you go Spektrum get the  Marine 2.4GHz receiver   http://www.spektrumrc.com/DSM/Products/marineReceivers.aspx

as they are the first ones they say are suitable to be put in boats

my mate is using one of these     http://images.r2hobbies.com/rcps61206_61411/01.jpg    bit of a pain to set up as you set the trims stops on your pc or lap top, but once done its been great and the spare receivers are the price of  servo over hear  http://www.r2hobbies.com/proddetail.php?prod=rcps61411  and  no xtals

the only reason I put the link to spectrum is that someone had suggested it and I have not seen the new set menthiond on hear before even Futaba now have a marine version out with long ant

Hi Proteous

What is the product called (make, model), is it the Turborix? I would love to see what I am missing. I could then get somebody else to purchase.
The R2 site is blocked for me, I live in China. They won't sell to China or HK so the site is blocked.
This is an issue of an exclusive agent for China. But they can't/won't tell me who the agent is.

I already have a set in my sights. The Radiolink T6. There are two versions of this model in 2.4ghz , one heli, one airplane.
I was wondering if one would be more suitable than the other.

Hi
If you have trouble with Endpoint on a sail winch try adding an Action Morph it fixed the points on my DX5 a treat.

I have two Morphs on my yacht as it has two winches one on the large rudder the other on the very large sail.

It is an American Catboat the sail winch was increased to about six revolutions by the Morph
