Appledore life boat station
« on: August 12, 2009, 12:02:36 pm »

Hi All, I spent last weekend with an old friend in Bideford, N Devon, and while I was there took the opportunity to look in on the Appledore lifeboat station. As I am adding some crew to a recently acquired Trent class model I needed some information on the current clothing worn. The crew models from Speedline are excellent but no indication was given as to where the stickers go. (No rude suggestions please). Luckily the mechanic was there and he let me take pictures in the crew's locker room of the kit they wear. If there is anybody else interested I will post some photos. Cheers, Graham.

Hi Mark, Sorry for the delay. Something called work interupted me for most of the week. Here are some pictures. I learnt that there are big differences in the kit worn by the inshore crews and the offshore crews. Gloves can be black or blue or a combination of both colours depending who won the tender to supply. Cheers, Graham.
