Hi,
My name is Nigel, and I am based in Southampton. I am new to RC Boats, and purchased a cheap boat (simialr to

I know it isn't a great boat, but it was an easy and cheap (I only paid £60) way to get started. I have had this boat for about a month now, and enjoy playing around with it. Subsequently my son, and a friend also purchased similar boats! Now that we have started to get the bug I am looking for a cost effective way of moving to the next level (more speed, more manouverable!).
I don't particularly want to build from scratch, but I am quite happy working from a hull, and adding motor, radio stuff etc.
So here are the questions:
What would you recommend as a cost effect boat?
How much will I have to spend?
Is Electric or nitro the way to go?
Where can I buy good secondhand gear to keep the cost down, or is that a false economy?
Could I use the existing boat, and add new motor, radio, rudder etc. (I like the look/size of this boat)?
Thanks in advance for your help.
