What is the best sound unit?
« on: August 20, 2009, 03:34:41 pm »

Hi

I'm looking to add a diesel sound unit to my Atlantic Challenger and was wondering which one to go for, I must admit that I have listened to the Caldercraft unit at about £40 but was rather disappointed - an upgrade on this seems to leap to around £130  :o e.g the Graupner Soundswitch 1 Programmable Sound Module. Is this worth the cash {:-{ can anyone post a sound file example? Any help much appreciated.

Cheers

Saw one at Warwick show last year that had a start up sound, then the low popping rattly sound right the way up to revving, but can't remember who makes it {:-{

Not our current one, Andy. Probably R/C Model Workshop; no longer available (or so rumours have it).

Try this company for the ultimate,in sound reproduction,they don,t come cheap,but they do sound good
www.benedini.de,
and they do modules whereby you can download your own sounds

These Benedini modules are the biz,they make them JCC ones,sound like a can of nails being jangled,Ok they are expensive,but,if my memory serves me well, you can get one with around 8 different sounds on it,
In the model Tank,world,Thomas Benedini,modules are revered,
Me personally,for my Tiger, I like the Tamiya,DMD and MF01 units that give me the sound i,m looking for,
