I use a fishing reel grease from the local sports shop. Its light, cheap and comes in a tube with a nozzle that lets you squeeze it straight in to the lubrication tube (if you have one) on the prop shaft. After several years of using it in all my boats I am yet to have a problem or notice any wear. Cheers, Ian.

I use boat prop shaft grease the same as ray111. Never a problem.

Have you tried a copper based anti-seize grease/compound that is used on brakes and clutch splines? High temperature and tenacious resulting in a long life.
