Illusionist darren Brown claims Lotto success
« on: September 10, 2009, 01:38:42 pm »

Did anyone else watch this last night, Its obviously a trick but a very good one. Will be interesting to see how he did it on Friday. %%

Would have been even more impressed if he had actually got a lotto ticket with the numbers on.

I only saw the 10 minute show, very clever but as he always says, 'it's an illusion.'
Was the other hours show any good?

I enjoyed it , But I do like his style..  Even recorded it to see the flash words he puts in to see what they said.

Just found it on 4oD: http://www.channel4.com/programmes/derren-brown/4od#2918279

Is that a nervous tic he has (quick nods of the head) or is it part of the tricks?

Dear All,

I can guarantee the following win.

123456789, &/or 1 - 49. These are all definitely the right numbers - but not necessarily in the right order! :-)) ;) ok2 :-) O0 {-)

Good luck, and may I have 10% for this valuable advice when you win please! {-) %% :-))

Here's a theory - the correct numbers were projected onto a clear screen placed in front of the balls. - or perhaps the balls themselves are mini screens which are operated by a type of voice recognition programme which would activate when he "shouted" the numbers out. The simple solution, of course, is that he had an accomplice place the balls while he was getting all excited and writing the numbers down to distract the audience.

Just as a matter of interest, the first three numbers drawn - 23, 11, 35 - when placed in numerical order - 11, 23, 35 - show an increment of 12. Also, look at number 39, if you add 12 to that you get 51 but because the upper end of the draw is 49 you start again at number 1, 2 etc. Is it a coincidence that number 2 was also drawn ?

As you can see, the main numbers drawn were - 02, 11, 23, 28, 35, 39 - so I can't see where number 28 fits in !!!  so bang goes another theory.........

Okay, Okay, back to the drawing board.  %%

I would have been really impressed had he shown us the numbered balls before the draw. As Larry says, obviously a trick, but I've seen much cleverer ones done "live" rather than with TV gadgetry. Too much hype and not enough substance.

Was that a Black cover underneath the balls,  hiding a little man with a pen.   ok2

He'll probably earn more money out of this than the lottery anyway!

Yes that would work.... why didn't he have the balls just under the screen as he watched the live broadcast...
