Deans Marine compact kit "SS Redshanks"
« on: September 11, 2009, 06:34:39 pm »

Has anyone built the Deans Marine compact kit "SS Redshanks" the North Sea coaster? If so what was it like to build, what RC components did you use and have you any photos of the model?

Many thanks

Not the Redshanks but i built the Sisapon which is a touch larger. It's a good kit, instructions were so so but sorted any problems out by contacting Deans by email
I used a standard radio Rx and servo, motor was from an old servo and i used the P68a Action esc which uses the Rx battery pack to power motor. Quite a fast build and everything is decent quality

Hi Simon,

I just started work on my Redshanks a few weeks/months ago. You can follow it either here (you need to register in order to see the pictures):

http://www.deansmarine.co.uk/forum1/index.php?topic=132.0

or here:

This is my first kit from Deans Marine. So I will try out a few things which may not end up to be part of the final model.

Hope you enjoy.

Regards,
