Hi Guys,

At the moment I'm looking for a new kit to start on, I was thinking a trawler might be good, with some nice dirty airbrush weathering etc, but fancy something a bit bigger than normal.

Whats the best large kit trawler out there at the moment? anyone built any and got good results?

Interested to hear any and all thoughts.

Mountfleet Models do the Boston Typhoon which is quite long.
Just over 55 inches long.

Thank you Bob, probably a bit old school for me, I prefer a slightly more modern boat, sorry I wasn't clear. That is a lovely model though!

If you want a modern fishing boat at a large scale then you must realise that modern jobs, apart from having the length you want, also tend to be pretty "fat" in beam and draught. The sheer weight of the thing could well put you off the idea....remember that one cubic foot of water weighs 62lb, so even a 2cu.ft displacement (not impossible) is.....think about it time. BY.

Hi, has it got to be a Kit?, you can get an excellent plan from Model Boats of "Launch Out" it is a
very good sea boat at 45 in long, not to heavy, takes about 16lb with plenty of access in which
some Kits are lacking & you can weather away to your hearts content. I built mine in 1972 & it is
still going strong.
