I'm back home from our travels after 4 and a half weeks away in our caravan, with only intermittent visits to the forum. Yesterday, we drove from Goondiwindi (pronounced Gunda-windy) to home in a huge dust storm, 460 kilometres of 300 metre visibility, the car and van were filthy when we arrived. It was one of the biggest dust storms in Australia in living memory, extending from Canberra in the south, to central Queensland, over 2000 kilometres across. It was an eerie sight, the early morning sky in Goondiwindi was yellow, and in Sydney it was red. Click on the link below for more information.
http://www.smh.com.au/national/sydney-duststormThe clean up is now on, and apparently car washes are doing a roaring trade. There was a film of fine dust everywhere, even inside houses that were closed up.
Thankfully, the weather here today is beautiful, with the dust now heading for New Zealand, so be prepared all you Kiwi modellers
Peter.
