Do you mean it is not yet finished but we may not see it? If you get rid then please make it a condition that the new owner brings it to Alfold.

Almost finished the Cygnus now named "Weymouth Boy "! I changed the boot topping colour to white to keep Del-boy happy, the pot hauler works and also the the drum so I can do some scale fishing, radar also works and when I get round to it the lights will all work , which have 10mm dia ultra bright LEDS fitted to them.

Hi all,

I'm currently building a 1/12 scale fishing boat and looking for some advice.Where do the ribs start? Right at the point at the bow or do they start away from the bow?How far apart are they?It has a cygnus type bow round stern based on a 10 metre fibre glass inshore boat.

Cheers

Looking good Paul, we will open the frequency board on Saturday evening at Alfold so get them lights working, I sure it will look wonderful with the illumination.

Took the Gm 33 fishing Sunday to see if the net roller drum works in action , had a few teathing problems - smoke unit is not very effective , I will have to have a re-think on that one , but the nets worked fine without the otter boards fitted as I want to use the net this what so I can just winch it in and out via radio control without having to bring it in a disconnect them.

Alan - I hope I don't catch any fish at Alfold, some of them are bigger than my boat!!- It would look like a Jaws re-enactment !

Looks the bees knees, I made model working trawl doors for my boat, just fitted a model amchor chain between the doors, they worked, Our lake is green enough not to see the trawl any way.

Decided to make the stand for the Cygnus More interesting for the shows , I cut some MDF to shape to fit around the main stand , coated it with PVA glue and sprinkled sharp sand onto it the stapled some rope edging,
I collected seashore ornaments over the summer from Weymouth etc , of course I am not satisfied with it being purley static so in the treasurechest there is a digital dictaphone and in the dinghy there is a speaker and a small amplifer unit and Ive recorded seashore sounds, gulls crying and wait for it --the captain Pugwash theme music !

Hy Paul
I saw this boat at Weymouth, cracking job mate, looked really good with the trawl out, pity I never had time for a chat. Can you tell me where you got the figures from, I,m just building up all the bits and pieces I need before I start mine.
Cheers

Hi Bosun,

I 'crew' my inshore trawler with the same figures, they are from George Turner Models, in 1/12 and 1/16 scale, ready painted. Highly recommneded.

The website address is  www.georgeturnermodels.com

Cheers,

Am I right in saying that your model won best in show at Weymouth, if so, I was the one haveing a chat with you before you put her on the water on the sunday, both boats were of a very high standard, :-))  pity about the show itself  :((.
