which speedcontroller for a torpedo 850 on a 12v gel cell?

Hi,
 I have a 49" perkasa pt boat and  recently fitted a torpedo 850 running on a 12V gel cell.
What size speedcontroller should I use with this setup?
Do you use a circuit breaker or fuse and if so what capacity?
