Nice video.

I have tried this & it is a bit like the TV "Generation Game" or flying helicopters. It looks so easy when someone else - who knows what they are doing - is doing it & not so easy when you are doing it yourself.

Try to attend one of the Yorkshire guys 'Tug-Ins' if you can.  :}

Hook up with John Pollit, Steve Clubb, John Hughes or any of the 'Pros'....you will not look back.

The one major lesson is 'SPEED' or the lack of it to be more precise, Speed will kill you every time. That and a touch of anticipation will go a long way tohelping you tow more smoothly. These guys are generally teamed up with a regular partner, they have spent a lot of time getting to know what the tow can do, what it might do next, how to deal with the weather etc. Most of the time communication between them is a simple one word request, with each knowing exactly whats required at either end of the tow.
You could lift either operator off his end of the tow, switch places on them and they would know immediately what was required.

And their not shy when asked for advice on either tactics or building tips and hull selection either.  :-))
