Revell Snowberry build

Not having the time to go to my shed due to visiting Fthr in Hospital I was having serious withdrawl symptoms of not boat building,sad isn't it!!!!!
With this in mind a cunning plan was hatched if I could get a plastic kit that could be built in the utility room so Flee bay was sourced and the Snowberry was bought,now I am really not into grey ships but I do own a rather FAST Perkassa !!!!
Having opened the box and poured over the instructions for a couple of days a start was made,boy was kit bashing this hard in the 70's I think not,I must admit the fit on some of the parts is shocking to say the least,having spoken to a friend who knows a thing about palstic moulding he reckons they are trying to finish a run before they have started,what he meant was that the more they produce the hotter the master gets and thus herewhere the problems start.Right then enough waffle and lets give an insight of whats going to happen.Power is going to be direct drive with either a 400 or 385 motor and a 3 blade raybosh prop,electrics of course are going to be ACTion utilising their horn,speed controller.radio gear Futaba 2.4

 Right then to the build the Hull comes in 4 bits that have to be aligned and glued together fit wise not very good at all but nothing plastic filler cant put right.i decided that the hull should be strengthened with plastic card strips and will be epoxied over as soon as I get a propshaft from the Blackpool show.The deck crossbeams were also glued in but yet again a dissapointment with a lot of trimming necessary to get the deck level.The fit of the deck is not to bad with little filler needed.Some of the main superstructure has been started and also the some of the fwd superstructure as well.painting will have to start soon on these as it will become more and more difficult as the build progresses.

Nice to see another snowberry on the "slipway", must get on and finish mine one day. I hope you dont mine me saying but I think you've got the wrong ladders to access the superstructure part number K40

Yep, been a busy summer for me so no ship modelling but I hope to finish my Bluebell this winter.
