Got my Maggie M kit today, ordered yesterday at 2.30 from Westbourne...arrived at 1.30 today.

I'm thinking of Graupner 720 bb torque motor (direct drive)....the 900s would be a bit overkill? I'm not keen on geared drives.

Any advice anyone......

One of my 755 motors on 12 volts will be just the job for it... http://www.modelboatmayhem.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=19292.0

Mark.

P.S. I also do mounts & couplings for it as well....

I agree especially about the MFA geared motors. They are very noisy although once the boat is about 10 foot away its not as pronounced. Would have thought 720 would be ample. I mean its not like its a fast ship.

Hi funtimefrankie,
the 720BB motor is more than adequate. I am using it for my Amsterdam tug with a 60 mm prop and she pushes  a big bow wave (the tug weighs about 32 lbs). Highly recommended.
