They are ugly glass vases with added dangly bits.

Thanks for all the stupid answers at least I got some sensible replies on another forum. They may be dusty and ugly but around £1000 in my pocket thanks.

Ixion, you should have known better than to expect sensible answers from model boaters {-) {-)

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and what may look ugly to some is worth big money to others. Personally, I would rather have the thousand quid than the vases, but what do I know? I do watch the Antiques Roadshow though, and have come to realise that some rather ugly objects are occasionally worth lots of money.

Going on the picture, probably German or Bohemian glass c. 1890/1900 £25 on a good day with the wind behind it.

But - are there any marks on the base or mold lines for instance.

Have them appraised by an antiques specialist, you might get a nice sum for them. Liverbudgie seems right with the suggested age.

Dear Ixion,

Not my sort of thing or field, but I always respect the craftmanship to make and put such things together - as I do with any skilled craftsman that can do things I can't do!

There is a fast-track route to value if you are wanting to sell. Pu it on eBay for £1000 and see what happens. If it doesn't sell, reduce by £50 or £100 each entry until it finds it's level.

As someone else said, you can always take it around to a couple of reputable antique dealers - and maybe an auctioneer as a second/third opinion.

Only just seen your Topic as was in hosp. all last week (Sat-Sat). Hope you get a good price for them if you decide to sell.

Regards, Bernard
