Bow propellor.
« on: November 04, 2009, 08:24:06 am »

Hi,

Considering the speed limit of a displacement hull is heavily influenced by the bow wave resistance, does any one know, if placing the vessel's prop (not the bow thruster) at the bow would reduce the bow wave and increase the hull speed, i.e. pulling the vessel rather than pushing?

O0...Ian...if you research this you will find the breaking premise with a bow mounted prop is that you induce disturbed a water flow over the bow + hull  & so hence reduced efficiencies  ;D...just think about it
