Hopefully the Brockwell weather gods will be a kind again. Still the poolside indoor cafe will be open and its perfectly possible to drive your sub from the tables while getting a bite :-))

i would  like to say thank you to the organisers of this event, even though i had problems with my sea wolf, it lost signal and circled on the bottom and deep and out of sight for some time, i enjoyed it. this problem would not have shown at my local lake as we only have 18" of water, i also found out there is no failsafe on my esc, so now changing that and looking at the antenna.
see you all at the next one.

Perhaps stick a couple of bright red leds in the sail to make spotting it easier. That seawolf is perfectly camouflaged in the swimming pool.  :-)

You missed a successful the suba diver rescue of a sunk u Boat ( short video coming when I get a chance), one of the advantages of sailing in a pool over a murky lake.

After the heavens opened at about midday, the bad weather blew over, and got nice and sunny. We continued sailing until about 3pm.

Unfortunately Guy (going down) had a serious leak with his Krick Type VII, which resulted in it 'going down', but not coming back up.

Fortunately his Dad is a scuba diver and had brought along a wetsuit and even a small air tank, so recovery wasn't a problem.

Suspected cause is the hatch seals. It looked like one of the batteries had shorted. Hopefully the electronics have survived the ordeal.

The next Dive-in will be in the new year. date yet to be confirmed- the pool is being drained at some point for a complete repaint. This is very weather dependant, as the coating is a twin part catalyst finish, so will need a minimum temperature to cure adequately.

However it's likely to be March or April. We also have the Summer Dive-in, which is held at St Albans, another very nice venue, complete with a cheap bar. So if your sub sinks, you can go and drown your sorrows! That event isn't free, as I have to hire the venue, but it's only a fiver if you pay in advance (tenner if you pay on the day), and I think that's very reasonable for exclusive use of such facilities.

Forgot my camera this time around, But i took a couple of pictures with my phone cam. Turnout was a bit lower than expected- a couple of people didn't show up, but we had about eight people with about eleven boats. I'm sure Ramesh took a few pictures, and he has some film too.

I haven't had a chance to edit it yet, but unfortnately as the camera was attached at the end of a long tripod and dangled under water, lost of the interesting bits were missed for pointing it in the wrong direction. I only have a few seconds of the diver returning underwater with the sub in hand.

Dumb question from a non-sub - it's a swimming pool - why did you need scuba?

Or was it just a case of "I've got the gear I'll use it"? ;)

It was only a tiny tank, but you're quite right that it wasn't essential. A wet suit was handy though, that water was icy to say the least. When he retrieved it, I made some remark about Excalibur and the lady of the lake.
