… A little trick that might come in useful --- one of our members has built a sailing barge and on the rudder and leeboards to represent the iron banding he used plastic tie wraps glued and tacked in position ---It looks very good— I have been considering using them on my sailing ship rudders --- he puts them on rough side out-- ie.: one side is smooth and the other side has a ridge along each edge and a ratchet ripple in between--- on a model this looks like worked iron--- the use of black ones saves painting and gives a nice crisp edge, and--- you can get them in all sizes…It’s Another bit of small boat trickery---
I'm sure other's of you have little tricks and wrinkles that would be useful to other modelers... simple little things that save time and money Perhaps this could be the start of thread
