Attaching wood to fibreglass
« on: November 22, 2009, 08:22:26 pm »

This is quite likely a silly question for here, but I have a Glass fishing boat hull, painted and I want to attach wooden Rubbing Strakes to the finished surface, without needing a repaint! any ideas of which adhesive and how to do it? Do I  need to remove the paint first?  All responses welcome. J.

Yes you need to remove the paint otherwise your wood is only stuck to the paint and not the hull itself.

Knock it and the paint will come off with the wood.

Superglue will do it or two part epoxy resin.
