Are you going to build it as it was or as it is at present? It has had several refits in its lifetime and now has a 'goalpost' structure on the wheelhouse!

Ixion I have absolutely no idea at the moment.

I take it the one in the photo is yours, looks really good, like the weathering.

I was admiring the weathering on this one, but dont know if I dare.

Will she be finished in time for a sail on Boxing Day then, Richard? {-) Good luck with the build, you always make such a good job of your models.

Two altered Maggie M kits one not so noticable and one well see for your selfs the trawler is based on Scottish versions of the vessel and the other is now altered to a scalloper both good looking models but a well deserved view that differas from the original

both photos taken from trawler photos

Looks like you bought just in time, or too soon.....

They say it's being revamped, not listed now.

Still got my kit and the motor/prop/shaft package sitting in my cupboard 4-5 years since I got it. Don't know if I'll ever get around to building it , even if I do build it I doubt I'll ever manage to lift the model with the state my backs in just now so anyone from Aberdeen to MacDuff to Fraserburgh thats looking for the kit I may be willing to sell it on but not decided yet.

Slipway says that there are updating this kit. They don't show it on their webpage anymore. I wonder what the difference will be? They said that the parts were hand drawn and now they will be computer generated. Has anyone who built this kit have problems with the fit of parts?

It must have been a late decision on their part to remove Maggie M from the range. I downloaded the 2010 catalogue only last week, and it was still there then. In fact, it is still in the downloadable catalogue, perhaps they haven't got around to updating it yet.

There's no suggestion that the parts fit was poor. The reason for the various kit updates is that keeping a stock of say 100 sets of model-specific sheets of printed and/or die-cut styrene is both expensive and wasteful of storage space. Far better to stock blank sheets, which can be used for any kit, and then just cut out sets of parts on the CNC router as and when required.
Lawrie will be converting the drawings for these kits into CAD files and making any slight nudges that are necessary as he goes. I know the form here because I did the revision of Yorkie for Model Slipway. The process will also make the kit more attractive to build in that you don't have to allow for the thickness of a printed line when cutting out - it's all done for you to within a fraction of a millimetre.
Happy?
