Remember when this was normal?

Hello, thought you might be interested in this. I have several old German Magazines from the 50s called "Hobbys" , the content covers everything from cars and motorcycles to boats and outboard motors to cameras and general science. In one is an Article about Hovercraft and how they could be used as ferries and Transport in shallow waters. There is in every one a project for Modellers. In this is a project for a RC Yacht, 1.40 metres long, two channel. Full details including reduced scale plan and materials list, also addresses where certain items could be ordered. Here are a couple of photos, the first of the RC system, read it and be happy that today everything is soooooo easy!
List of what is what! A)Aerial B)Radio Valves, C)Anode Battery 30 volt! C)Reciever plug D)Swich  G)Winch I) Plug for motots K) Uniperm Motor with gearbox 1to 32 L) Wormgear M) Microfon Reciever N) Motor with Gearbox P) wormgear Q) Battery connections for Servo and Kinematil S) Kinematik T) Gear drive for the rudder.
