what polish do i use
« on: November 25, 2009, 04:27:03 pm »

for Styrene plastic ( Robbe Magin 1) ?

she's not too bad, just some light scratches, i want to use a suitable mop disc on an electric drill, something that'll give her a good shine
thanks..........

( the Magin 1 hull is a little bit too flimsy, nothing like a tug boat)

Hi mate im not sure what pollish you can use on plastic to be honest,maybe search on ebay for plastic pollish?.I use 3m marine compound for buffing out scratches and shining up my fibreglass hulls i build and they come up loveley but im not sure its safe on plastic,although its safe on paint etc.

thanks, i'll find out tomorrow.

but i must be careful, because the hull is styrene and very thin, i'm quite surprised because the quality of the hull is very poor compared to my tugboats, it'll have to be a very fine compound

Might be better to just paint the thing with some styrene safe paint?.

ye, i've got to paint her now  {:-{

because the self-righting chamber was leaking, so i've had to pull her apart, bloody hell what a nightmare, i've brought grey platicoat primer and then i'll sprey her gloss red.

i've found somewhere near by that'll print waterproof decals, so i've designed my own, i'm calling her Lamborghini Hawaiin Punch :-)) :-)), the transfers look awesome
