New to the hobby....TID help?
« on: December 02, 2006, 02:19:46 am »

Hello all,

Im fairly new to the hobby have built boats before.  Recently I was given the Lesro TID tug kit and I am really excited about building it.  I want to build it as scale as I can, are there any sites with actual wartime photo of TID's in service so I could build mine to?

I have a milliperm motor for it, I believe the boat is 20"'s in length so do u think this motor will do?

Thanks

Kris

I would give the motor a try, I do know that the Monoperm or standard 385 motor wll power her quite well.
With such a small motor try her with a fine pitch plastic prop.
My theory is to always overpower models, as the wind and waves arent scale.

I struggled to even get an answer on requests for help on TID's on this forum, let alone pics particular to WWII
But a TID owner did send me CD with loads of detail, much of which would be on the the original, short of grey paint i dont think theres much you couldnt use....coy of the CD sir?  ;D

Try this, the bonchurch used to be moored in Port Penrhyn, Bangor, N.Wales.
