God help you if she ever sees your post Andy!! If you get beaten over the head <*<perhaps someone will tell you , you should have seen it coming.
I first noticed mine were not quite right at the tender age of 45. Went into work, picked a piece of paper up from the desk to read it and found I couldn't focus on it at normal reading distance, I just put it down to tired eyes... wrong! That was the first instance and it was down hill from there on in. Reading glasses are the bain of my life, always losing them or breaking them. I now only buy cheapies (£1-99 from QD stores), they are absolutely fine for what I do and this was confirmed by the eye specialist. I am so bad at looking after these things as they meet with allsorts of disasters due to the things I get involved in. I lose my temper on a regular basis whilst hunting down the elusive specs which have gone AWOL. I decided to buy five pairs at a time and simply leave them all over the house so they are never that far away in an emergency. I have on occasion lost them in the garden, only to find them whe mowing the lawn as the mower shreds em and spits them out all over the place.
Glasses... hate the ruddy things but useless without them, might as well chop me ands orf cos I can't do anything.
