The Grand Prix is to stay at Silverstone afterall, good to have a G.P. confirmed, but what now will happen to donnington with all of it's millions of pounds worth of debts?

I have a funny suspicion - call me cynical if you like - but I reckon the Poisoned Dwarf suckered the Donington people into believing they were going to get the GP and then used that threat to kick Silverstone into giving him a much better deal for himself, or vastly improved facilities at no cost to his organisation. Strange that they should get a 17-year deal so soon after CD had been offered so many well-publicised extended deadlines, isn't it? Ecclestone even said not long ago that if CD couldn't step up to the mark by the due date then he'd just erase the event from the calendar.

I don't imagine he will shed any tears for Castle Donington, and I don't think anyone would willingly take on what is now just a bloody great big building site. As a former resident of the village I think it's a damned shame.

Agree with FLJ - the Donington switch was a put up job. Still for next season we can watch out for Lewis and Jensen punting each other off every other w/e. Should be fun.

MotoGP is at Silverstone this year, I hope Donnington do get them back or there is a danger that we will loose that great circuit (again).

The best new is the the British GP is on the same day as the World Cup final which means I will hopefully be able to get tickets for GP next year!

Donington used to be such a good Circuit, sweeping bends, a real downhill section, a real riders or drivers Circuit. They castrated it getting it "Safe" for the wimps driving today and have ruined it! Let us hope that they get DTM there and British Saloons back, also lots of Bikes. I loved that Track, had a few Hairies there myself!!
