I have been told to introduce myself by Roger!

My name is Stuart Badger and I live on the island of Naxos in the Cyclades in Greece (Ex West Sussex UK).
I have been employed in the Model Trade since I was 13! and finally ended up amongst other things as a professional model maker.
My main interest is Paddle Steamers and Steam/Sail merchant ships of the nineteeth century. My latest project is a 5/16inch to the foot model of the Four funneled Irish Royal Mail Paddle Steamer 'Connaught' of 1860. The model will be just under 3 metres long.
I hope to meet new people with shared interests here and look forward to reading about your wonderful models

All the best

Hi Stuart,

You can download them by posting a reply and clicking on the 'Additional options....  You will have to reduce them in 'size' and a programme I use is PIXresizer which is easy to use and you will find it by doing a search on Google (free download).

Dry Dock: Show everyone your New Builds, Rebuilds, Upgrades, Modifications - - - Mayhem Master Classes.

Under the correct discription of your boat.

If you do it wrong the moderators will move it for you. :-))

Thanks for the info every one.

I've made 5 attempts now to upload the photos. I VERY carefully checked that they were all well under 161kb and I only tried to upload eight. I keep getting a 'your file is too large message'.

I don't have this problem with other forums - strange.

Ah well nice idea but I think I'll just stick to chatting.

All the best

Sorry Stuart didnt notice what you said.

The 161kb is the total on each reply. ie 2 photos@ 80kb is fine.

Anymore you have to do several replies.

Thanks for the clarification Richard!
In all honesty I really don't think I'll upload photos if that's the case. Thanks anyway.

Here's how to host photos on the forum:
http://www.modelboatmayhem.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=23.msg2630#msg2630

Unlimited size hosting on Photobucket:
http://www.modelboatmayhem.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=2277.msg108900#msg108900

Just to put in proportion, currently Mayhem hosts more than 42,000 photos and attachments requiring
5,074,000 Megabytes of server space
.... that costs a shed load of money!

Actually the size limit  (640 x 480 - 161Kb) is not that limited, examples photos:

Welcome to the forum, brocstar. Seeing that you are a professional model maker, perhaps we will all be asking you for advice   :}.

That's what the forum is all about, though, helping each other  O0

Hi Stuart,

Welcome to this forum. It's very nice to have you aboard. The guys would certainly love to see your projects, and knowing your skills, you would be busy with our questions and not have any time to model.  ok2  which would be a great shame.

With regards to posting of pictures, (as Martin says)  I find that I can post up to Four, if I keep them to 130K each. These come out at almost full screen and are very suitable, as it saves clicking on them to enlarge them.

Looking forward to your contributions already.  :-))

Cheers

Ken

It is 161kb per photo, not per post. I have often uploaded 8 or more photos of less than 161kb each with no trouble at all.

Thank you Peter!
I rechecked the pictures - they were ALL well under 161kb, but EXCEEDED the pixel size - that's why they wouldn't upload. There is NO mention of the pixel size on the posting instructions, it only mentions the file size.
