I'm Toying with the thought of building a model Ice boat, our lake is frozen over about 3" thick ===I sailed 2 or 3 full sized ones in Canada in the 60's and they go like stink.

You can get into the parking lot at the club house but the road down too the lake is too dicey you should get down ok ---but would have trouble getting a proper Land-Rover back up the hill let alone a car... we got a 4x4 stuck down there last year ... any way the club house is being redecorated and will be closed fore about another 10 days so you can't even get a cup-of -Tea

So has ours- used to be really strong on cold days- strong enough to hurt your nose some days!

But I miss the huge cloud of steam that showed at least a little large industry was left in York. {:-{

You probably ran down our old street at some point then- Wenlock Terrace- the huge old officer's houses from the barracks?

A lovely part of the city- don't miss the traffic, but the walk into the city by the river in summer couldn't be better.

OOooooh you,re a bad Man Andy,how did you know this was my most favourite Malt,
this was my first taste of Malt whisky,up until 1992 I hated whisky as i thought they were all the same,my Dad used to drink White Horse,and when i was young I got a taste of it, and it was S***,and i thought all whiskies must taste like this,
Then in 92 i was on a biking holiday in Germany, andi met some German bikers,and we were in a Bar,and Uwe,asked me what i,d like to drink,I said I,d have a Vodka,He looked shocked and said,"a Vodka"you are Scottish you must have a whisky,I rolled my eyes and said OK,and looked at the bottles on the shelf,there was only one,Tamdhu,I pointed to it and said ok i will take that one,he ordered 4 glasses of Tamdhu,for myself him, Richard,and Marcus,I was not looking forward to drinking this S***but to be polite i knew i must,we all then threw back our glasses, I closed my eyes when doing so awaiting the inevitable,taste and shiver that would course through me,..it never came,what i got was this lovely warm feeling in my belly and the taste was something to behold, Since that day i have been a Malt man,and have a good selection here,and Tamdhu is among them,
Oh your a bad man tempting me like this,..now to make you squirm,I like my Malt with Milk, %%

Meanwhile back on the ski slopes of Cairngorm they have too much snow and cant get up the road to dig out the railway. Here are a couple of pics of the guys from G2 Sports on the roof of the top station.  The pisting machine is still on top of at least 3ft of snow at the bottom station.

I'm a brandy man, but can be occasionally tempted by a good malt (or a loose woman)  :o :o
