Foggy and miserable -1C this morning, and I don't want you telling me how great it is in NZ, my mum and sister do that frequently.  >>:-(

Kinda like the ski area that closed because of too much snow , (Cairngorm all this week.) They are still digging !   Down in the village the icicles have dropped off without impaling anyone !

Snowing in North London at the moment. Only a dusting, and it's not settling, but definitely big fat flakes...

Don't talk to me about snow,I've possibly just written my car off last night, through not being able to turn a corner at just 10mph. I had been going into work last night to pick up my van for an early start this morning, with not a gritter to be seen anywhere, and slid into a railing near the work. The railings bent over, and the car got hooked up on the top of them. When you consider that my car weighs just over a ton,you can get some idea of why the railings bent at such a low speed. I drive a Citroen C5 LX estate. <:( <:(

Don't worry, Dreadstar - the BBC are reporting that January was warmer than normal, on average, around the world.

That is, according to the GISS figures. These are the ones that have undisclosed 'amendments' added to them, which is one of the things the current Freedom of Information complaints are going on about.....

Sorry to hear that David.
I used to work at the Motor Research Assn and have seen old Rover 3.5's being run into solid objects at only 30mph and the engine finishes up on the front seats!
When people say they crashed at 70mph, what they usually mean is that they were DOING 70, reacted to the danger, braked and ACTUALLY were only doing about 20mph at the point of impact - otherwise they're not usually in a position to talk about it!
Anyway the main thing is that YOU'RE all right.
Cheers

More heavy snow in Stevenage stoped my boating this morn. I looked out the window at 8.00 am  to heavy snow and cars trying to get up the hill by my house.  I of cause did the best thing and went back to bed till 9.30.   I was going to give my Hydro a blow out after it's winter rebuild, Not today !!!
Lets hope we don't get any next Sunday as i am racing at Willen lake MK
OK winter you have had your fun , NOW CLEAR OFF !!

1100ft up in Queensbury - home of the world famous Black Dyke Band - it's just started snowing gently again. And long may it last - at least whilst I have sledges, snow scoops, and rock salt to sell!
