Thanks for the comments chaps and Ken methinks you are taking the xxss  >>:-( {-)

Anyway, back to the build.

Today I made and fixed the fish pools and the rear hatch.

Getting the brass wire the right shape and size for the tops was a bit of a workup and I could have done with a bit more information, ie. measurements and which bit of plastic fits inside or on the ends of the other bits.

Richard,

I ,love it. A great subject, beautifully built so far. Have you thought about writing a book with all your builds in? You could use all your posts on Mayhem, so not too much writing involved. It would be a superb reference book for kit builders..

Barry

Richard,

I meant every word and I am sure Ken did too......Go for it amigo.. :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-))

Great Richard  :-)) the drawings are starting to make sense to me now and I will be doing those bits in the next couple of days. Did a little today, cut some bits out including those 40 little triangular pieces, spent more time looking for them on the workshop floor than fitting them   :}
Can I ask what you used to glue the brass wire with.

Good old  "Zap A Gap Cyano" Alan.

I soldered the joint in the wire first.

I've managed to get some photos of the hydraulics that operate the fish hopper hatch ( on the starboard side forrard where the net is emptied into the shelterdeck )

Hello,

Good job!  :-))

I discovered a little with this kit, the manufacturer model slipway, and I must say that the contents of the box is very attractive, and the work done behind is very good.
If you continue like this, you will eventually convert meto the kit!  :D

Think your standard of build is way above doing kits. Thanks for your comments.

After having nearly three weeks off through illness I am now feeling well enough to do a bit more.

First off I sprayed the anti fouling on the hull as once I start building off the deck it is going to be awkward to turn the boat upside down.

I then fixed the rear bulwarks and the port and starboard rear bulwarks.

The next thing I fixed was the vents on both port and starboard side.

The instructions aren't too bad but you do have to keep searching different pages to get all the details for the same item.

In the instruction book you have the main instructions, an exploded picture of the operation, a sheet showing where the plastic parts are, a section giving all the part numbers and where they are, a section showing what each white metal fitting looks like and two not to scale drawings. You invariably have to refer to all of these for each thing you make. I'm sure the Al Khubar and the Sentinel instructions were simpler to understand. {:-{

Anyway back to building now.

Hi Ned. Large window, two fans and a heated work room. Spray and get out, easy really. Don't do too much though. :-))

Sorry to hear you haven't been well Richard, hope you are fully recovered now.

I know what you mean about the instructions, did think about taking the book to bits, but now I put clips on all the relevent pages.
Cheated while waiting for your posts  :-) and painted the whole hull apart from the water line and the yellow line, Ill have to be careful that I don't damage the paintwork now.
Plenty for me to go at now  :-))

Today I started on the deck house, although the instructions number all the parts they are very confusing when you have to keep turning pages in the book to try and figure what goes where. I hope that the instructions are made clearer when this kit is revamped.

Tomorrow I start on the deck house furniture.

Today I have been making the wheel house furniture.
This is quite time consuming. Its a pity the Plastic Weld mixes with the ink on the plastic, always looks dirty.
I still have some more to make and I appear to have some white metal fittings missing according to the drawing, so will have to ring MSW on Monday.

Dicky,

Having cut the pieces out, I clean off the ink with surgical spirit. Looks better and stops the ink marks from showing up after painting.

Just my way.

Now that's something we don't think about. Seems a sad thing to happen.

Two choices. Paint and stickers, or replace the parts and try again.

Let us know what you do please.  Chin up.   :-))

Right I've done a bit more.

I've painted the green on the hull.

Painted and fixed the wheel house furniture.

Fixed the wheel house glazing and painted the inside of the wheel house.

Made and fixed the trawl winch base, tool boxes, gas locker and the port ventilator.

Made and fitted centre front hatch.

Made the wheel house roof.

Thanks Peter.

This week I have been making up hatches and bits and pieces.

I have also started on the mast which is a bit of a work up but I think I have broken the back of it now.

It will be good when Laurie gets all the drawings and instructions revamped.
