Hi Guys
Well it did rain and then some but it was still a good day out most of the traders attended but there were a couple of no shows
like model slipway. (Shame that)
Now a photo for a caption I think.

I will start

Suddenly after all the rain the normally shallow pond seemed a lot deeper. %% %%

Many thanks again to Martin and all and an extra thanks to Andy for pointing the pointy thing in roughly the right direction.

MAJOR CRISIS ROCKS MAYHEM MANAGEMENT
It takes more than wind and rain to spoil the Mayhem event, but disaster was only just avoided on Sunday afternoon when the Catering Dept (Ruth, bless her ) announced that she had run out out plastic cups for tea. This sent strong men into a panic and the cry of ' I will go and find my old cup' was heard around the venue. Over 1000 hot drinks were supplied. Ideas have been set in motion to avoid this intolerable problem arising next year.

On a more serious note. A very well done is deserved by all involved in this years event. Despite very difficult and unpleasant conditions we all had a thoroughly good time. It was nice to see the support from the trade and to welcome new traders to the event. Good camaraderie, friendship and a willingness to help each other mark this as a first class event.
I think that this bodes well for the future and the event will grow in size and importance.

I am now working on a design for an improved tent peg.
Peter.

May I add my thanks to Martin and all those who helped for organising a brilliant rally. In view of the forecast for Saturday and the prospect of a long drive (with lengthy roadworks on all three motorways!), I had wondered whether to make the effort.

I enjoyed the day immensely. There was a large number of excellent models to inspect and admire, plus plenty of interesting people to talk to. I felt sorry for the traders - the rain must have affected their business - and particularly sorry for Dave Milbourn with his macerated finger! Two highlights for me were witnessing the launch of Ken's R.N.L.I. Severn and also the maiden voyage of Brian's superb "Sealight".
