Model Slipway Vliestroom build

I got a little done last night. Maybe I'll have more time since I'm off the next few days.

Boy do I hate working with this thin plastic. Flimsy doesn't come close to describing it. I never thought I would miss wood.

It's just hard to work with and hardly seems to fit correctly. Bracing will help I guess.

I should say that once the plastic was together it was solid. But, a heater in the shop was too close to the plastic and warped it. Now I have to order all new.

Why not just buy sheet styrene, transfer measurements from the warped pieces, and cut your own?

I find plastic easier to work with than wood because there is no grain to throw off the cuts, it's waterproof from the start and you can buy plastic with parallel ridges cut into it at various intervals, which makes scoring and snapping strips of identical heights very easy.

I may try that.
