Old Comtessa given new lease of life…..
« on: January 08, 2010, 09:35:07 pm »

Via email to Mayhem...

Kings Lynn model boat club boater “Robert” has given a new lease of life to an old Comtessa … Rob who usually builds
power driven craft has just recently started sailing after learning on an old 3rd /4th hand Comtessa, he decided to
brighten the old girl up and this is the result

1)    A new planked Deck

2)     A planked cabin top and hatch

3)    A fitted out removable cockpit for easy access to servo’s and R/T gear,
(the plastic wheel has been replaced with a laminated dummy tiller)

4)    New pulpit and push pit rails

5)    And a planked transom

At a later date Rob wants to fit the boat out with proper fabric sails instead of the plastic sails supplied with the kit
Rob Has given me permission to post these pictures on M.B.M.( He Took Them)
I think that for a man who a year ago said “I’ll never sail a boat I’m a motor Man “ He’s done extreamly well,,, Don’t You???

Spoke to Rob, He uses "Stablit Lit Express" from G.D. Models--- This is a glue specially formulated for sticking ABS and Wood --- He says it's about £14.00 for a big tube but that it goes a long way ...as you don't need much of it.. all the woodwork is glued on with it ... Hope that helps  :-)) :-))
